Solak population is 2678. Territory is 3020sq. km. The community has a school, a library and a House of Culture. Height from sea level is 1650 m, with the continental climate. Distance from regional centre is 5 km, from Yerevan is 40 km. The village Solak is in the bank of river Hrazdan. The forefathers of the inhabitants had migrated from Mush and Alashkert in 1828. In the village have preserved church Mayravanq St. Astvatsatsin, which is built in the 7th century, a castle. The village is poor. Dwellers of Solak are manly busy with cattle-breeding, vegetable and cereals growing.
